A Meaningful Ron Paul Poll ( 2008 Presidential Election )
If we really want to know the potential for Ron Paul to win the Republican nomination and/or the White House, we need to get a better understanding of the nature of Ron Paul's supporters. After reading through countless forums I have noticed that Ron Paul appears to be getting support from the extreme left to the extreme right. His message seems to resonate with people, and understanding which people his message resonates with will be the key to knowing his true potential.
The following poll will attempt to measure the change between past political choices and the current choice of those who respond. If we can identify a change in political involvement, party affiliations, donation patterns, etc. then we can project the potential base of support for Ron Paul.
One of the major criticisms of online polls is that they are subject to people voting multiple times or automated 'bots'. This poll will attempt to eliminate those complaints by verifying that all responders have a unique/verified e-mail and are human. It is not perfect, but will prevent statistically significant abuse. One of the hardest things to argue with is the raw amount of forum posts (they are not easily faked by a computer and take time to create original content). So please take the time to explain your support for your candidate of choice as this, more than anything, proves the validity of the poll.
